Moonstone Elf Necklace .925 Sterling Silver
Every gemstone is unique and every piece of jewellery is uniquely handmade. This piece is an original and only available for a short period.
This collection of stones and spirals illustrates a play into simple form and colours. Smooth white spirals of silver embellish the beauty of the gem stone.
A precious opal lures you into its relm of dept and colour play. They were prized by ancient Romans and Greeks. Pliny said that opals combined all the best characteristics of all the world's most beautiful gems.
Rainbow moonstone is in fact a type of white labradorite feldspar. When the stone is cut and polished correctly the colour play from within the stone is truly amazing. Usually a simple milky white gemstone, but at the correct angle, a high quality piece will refract a large spectrum of inner fire. This play of colour is not always limited to just the blue shades; flashes of yellow, gold, and even aqua green may also be present. Simply beautiful to wear and beautiful to be seen.
Also Available with Opal:
Opal was formed many millions of years ago, when a combination of silica and water flowed into cracks and spaces in the ground. This then gradually hardened and solidified to become opal. Tightly packed uniform silica spheres of less than a tenth of a micron in diameter are what bangs out the amazing spectrum of colour that seems to leap from within the opal.
The internal structure of precious opal makes it diffract light; depending on the conditions in which it formed it can take on many colors. Precious opal ranges from clear through white, gray, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, magenta, rose, pink, slate, olive, brown, and black. Of these hues, the reds against black are the most rare, whereas white and greens are the most common. It varies in optical density from opaque to semi-transparent.
Also Available with Amethyst:
Its colour is as unique as it is seductive, an extravagance in violet! The most striking and flamboyant jewel in the quartz family. Not only beautiful, Amethyst has also enchanted both the esoteric world and the scientific world for generations. The stone is known to have a sobering and cleansing effects while in Korea it has long been used as a healing stone, a tranquilizer and a detoxicant. Scientifically this stone poses a riddle that untill today has not been completely solved. Amethyst has its hardness at 7 on the mohs scale, its moderate refraction and its weight is in common with the other quartz's of the family, but the crystal structure is completely different, and it is most unconventional. The construction is stratified, as a result of which areas and lamellae of varying colour intensity often come about. This explains why there are relatively few large cut amethysts of an evenly distributed dark colour
This piece is sold with the chain included. The chain may be adjusted between 40cm-45cm.
Each and every piece of jewellery is exclusively made high up in the alps in my South Austrian studio. Natural gemstones are selected and eco/recycled gold or silver used in creating your piece.
There is more than enough precious metal above the ground (already mined) to satisfy the jewellery industry for the next 50 years. Much of it sits in bank vaults and in the form of old and unused jewelry. Time to re-use and recycle!
Our Silver is recycled from scrap jewellery here in Austria.
Recycling Silver does not effect the quality of the metal! Impurities are burned off and the metal is again pure and ready to be alloyed. The finished piece is stamped .925 according with European Hallmark laws.
